Dover house busted with $1.5M worth of Marijuana
The police raided a home in Dover, Florida within Hillsborough County and found $1.5M
worth of pot in the garage. I think we would all agree that is a lot of pot. Needless to say,
the people arrested are in major trouble and are facing drug trafficking charges as well as
cultivation of marijuana charges. Any legal defenses they may have should be related to
validity of the law enforcement search warrant as well as any constructive possession
issues. If the police were smart, they developed specific suspects prior to the raid and were
able to time the raid in such a way that they found evidence overcoming the constructive
possession aspects of the case. The homeowners were obviously not very smart keeping
such large quantities on the premises and apparently not keeping it a secret. The police
develop leads such as this by working arrestees for information in exchange for letting them
out of jail. Chances are that the offenders were overly confident and bragged about their
stash around town. It appears they'll most likely be bragging about all their marijuana in
